Abstract:

This paper discusses a sequencing problem with n independent jobs, each of which is assigned with an equally long due window, to be processed on a single machine with random processing time (with a normal distribution). It is proved here that the due window assignment has nothing to do with the sequences of the jobs but the setting of the window.
