Some partial orders describing positive ageing

Certain new partial orders among life distributions are introduced, and their relations with existing partial orders of probability distributions for describing the phenomenon of ageing are investigated. It is noticed that some partial orders are used for direct comparison with the no-ageing exponential distribution whereas others are used for comparing the distributions of residual life times at different ages. The role of the equilibrium distribution in the various concepts of positive ageing is investigated.
