A method to improve the consistency of judgment matrix in the analytic hierarchy process

With respect to the problem of improving the consistency of judgment matrix in Analytic Hierarchy Process, a new method is proposed to improve the consistency of the judgment matrix according to the alternatives provided by the decision maker. Firstly, the definition of an induced judgment matrix is given. Then, by analyzing the relation between the induced judgment matrix and the judgment matrix, a simple practical iterative algorithm is proposed. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
