Abstract:

The development and implementation of decision systems for airline operational processes is addressed. The issues of identification and reorganization are concentrated upon. Case references from aircraft stand assignment, flight overbooking, meal ordering and yield management. Based on the practical implementation experiences in SAS, the following scientific research is suggested: develop the flow model; define functions of decision systems; make DP documentation work; provide versatile prototyping tools; set up a theory for the development of heuristics; create concepts for man-machine systems.
