Consideration was given to an approach to the optimal control which combines the maximum principle, dynamic programming, and the method of design variables. This combined method ensures design of the optimal control of multi-stage processes in the plants whose dynamic models are represented by differential equations with discontuous right side and the minimized functionals are the consumptions of power or fuel. The method enables on-the-fly recalculation of the control actions under frequently varying source data of control. The software based on this method visualizes the course and outcome of analysis of the energy-efficient control.
