The efficient use of railway wagons is a very important part of railway transportation management. It has complicated elements which make trend analysis difficult, but there are comprehensive data records to be utilized. In this case, we make use of the theory and method of orthogonal polynomial regression to analyze the trend, and give an example to illustrate it, with quite satisfying results.
