Abstract:

Lot-sizing and scheduling are the two major aspects of production planning and control (PPC). A general integrating lot-sizing and scheduling problem (GLSP) for a multilevel capacitated flexible flow-line is formulated. A genetic heuristic algorithm with a special chromosome coding and some new genetic operators is proposed to solve the GLSP. A practical example shows that the method is effective.
