A new type of Lindenmayer systems-graph controlled table Lindenmayer system-is introduced and studied. Basic results concerning hierarchy and closure properties of the family of languages of these systems are established. The growth function of deterministic graph controlled table Lindenmayer systems is defined and the analysis and the synthesis of these functions are given.
