Abstract:

This paper develops and applies an influence matrix for project expediting. Its development is based on the fundamental precedence and control matrices which follow directly from the principles of precedence and influence. The influence matrix does not only simplify and shed light to one of the most complicated operational processes in project network theory but as an advanced definition matrix; it is a prelude to the development of a matrix analysis of such networks. Once the influence matrix has been constructed for a network, the expediting process is executed using it as a basis.
