Warfare is modelled stochastically. The Kolmogorov equations are developed for a continuous time, discrete group size Markov process. For large group sizes expectation and variance coincide for the Markov process, a set of developed stochastic difference equations, and variations of the Lanchester equations. For small group sizes discrepancies arise. The stochastic difference equations are used to model the December 1944 Ardennes Campaign.
