This decision support tool automates what traditionally has been an unwieldy, time consuming, complicated planning task. It is a spreadsheet-based integer programming methodology for creating and periodically updating master schedules needed for major aircraft upgrades and for implementing engineering changes. By explicitly including funding constraints, production constraints and requirements, opportunities for economies from common installation setups, and degradation of fleet operational readiness due to scheduled aircraft downtime, it effectively integrates the interests of the four principle stakeholders in the master scheduling process.
