Benefits of kanban are an important facet of JIT implementation. Many case studies have reported impressive performances in plants using kanban. Though many leading Western manufacturing firms are interested in or implementing kanban, there is a lingering scepticism about the applicability, necessity and benefits. The issues surrounding that scepticism are addressed.
