Abstract:

Data from simulations of an automated serial assembly line are used to obtain regression equations which predict hourly throughput as a function of several variables. In this way, a manager can evaluate the effects of changes in design or in uncontrollable factors. The influence of the variables can be observed as well using this technique, which has application potential for a wide variety of assembly lines.
