This analysis provides a framework for selection of major production systems or facilities based on system life-cycle cost, which includes acquisition and ownership costs. The basic steps for estimating the life-cycle cost are presented and can be used to evaluate different systems. This model can also be used with other selection decision models, combining several subjective and objective factors.
