A survey of production control supervisors at 100 major manufacturing firms sought to discover the degree levels, degree majors, educational backgrounds, years of experience, and daily activities of production control personnel. This study is the first step toward development of educational prerequisites and strategies to prepare people for these jobs, either at the university or industry level.
