Environmental management: Use of geographic information system (GIS) in the implementation of an industrial district in Piracicaba

The main objective of this work is to present a methodological procedure that considers geophysical parameters from a Geographic Information System (GIS), to evaluate different possibilities for industrial district location. This procedure tries to guarantee the environmental sustainability of the district implementation. The case analyzed is the country of Piracicaba, where a prospective study aims to consider the carrying capacity of the environment.
