We present a new blur identification procedure based on the hybrid, two-level evolutionary–deterministic scheme which allows a dynamic optimization of the size and the pattern of the support of the point spread function. Numerical simulations demonstrate an overall priority of the proposed identification scheme with regard to the conventional techniques. Three applications are provided.
