In the current context of international concurrence, the manufacturing companies are faced to fast changes of products. This involves the needs on the one hand to reconfigure the existing production resources and on the other hand to have efficient tools for production system control. In this framework, a two-stage analysis approach is proposed. The first stage consists to identify the various existing organisations (studying the links between resources), and the second stage proposes a better organisation of the system (using a simulation tool). We emphasis on the identification stage. Various production organisations and some analysis methods are first reviewed. Then, an identification algorithm is developed for system analysis. Based on the job routings, this algorithm allows us to build a tree of links between the system components (resources). The aim is to facilitate the building of a simulation model. Finally, an example illustrates our algorithm.
