We derive a simple method to prove the n-th moment of the warehouse backlog for the periodic (s, S) inventory system. When the difference between the warehouse order-up-to-level and the warehouse reorder point is large, under the condition that order-up-to-level is approximated by infinite quantity and the renewal density function is approximated by the reciprocal of the mean review period demand.
