We study the inventory model with deteriorating items and decreasing time varying demand and shortages. Benkherouf presented this inventory system and predicted several theorems in the mathematical model. Nonetheless, his proof is incomplete. The purpose of this short note is to verify that both the consumption cycle and the shortage cycle increase in length.
