Statistical process control (SPC) is the most frequently used method for quality control and quality improvement. The paper presents the methodology for the optimal design of the SPC procedures. In contrast to previously published results, the proposed model describes the situation when the inspection actions are not perfect. Approximate solutions have been proposed in order to simplify the design of SPC procedures.
