Abstract:

This paper provides a procedure for calculating the sensitivity of the production lead time to the average job processing time for a single machine problem under a general priority rule using simulation. The aim of this work is to develop sensitivity routines, for queues with any nonpreemptive priority rule, to calculate the sensitivity of the due date lead time to the average jobs processing time. Though GI/G/l queuing model is given, the same methodology can be extended to GI/G/m queuing model. The new algorithm is valid for the SPT, LPT and FCFS priority rules.
