Product data model for production management and logistics

The objective of the paper is to propose a new way of integration, using the Product Modelling approach. Previous research in this area rarely considers the aspect of management and logistical data. Actually, most of these works focus on the product technical data modelling. Therefore, we propose a Product Model specifically designed to allow communication through the whole firm information system. The model has been developed using the Express representation language designed for the ISO-10303 STEP Standard. By using STEP, our model clearly improves communication and allows an easier access via standard interfaces.
