Abstract:

Consider a multicriteria decison problem in which decision alternatives are evaluated with respect to different criteria. A decision maker has applied the principle of pairwise comparisons to express the relative importance (or weights) of the criteria. This paper describes a technique to modify these weights, so as to ensure their consistency while staying as close as possible to the decision maker's original estimates.
