In designing and installing a manufacturing system for a factory in Mexico, problems and considerations that are typical in implementing production systems for developing countries had to be addressed; for example, the unskilled work force and poor power supplies. Other problems in planning and developing arose from conditions and goals that differ from those in other developing countries; for example, poor employee-management relations. Many such provlems can be avoided or solved with proper planning.
