In this paper, we apply an interdependent tandem queueing model to the communication network with the integrated data/voice packetized statistical multiplexing. In integrated packet networks, voice and data are provided integrated transport using efficient packet multiplexing and switching techniques. One of the several congestion control methods used in such networks is a bit dropping scheme on packetized voice/data transmission. In a state of over load the packet on transmission is dropped in the multiplexer queue to relieve congestion. The performance of the statistical multiplexing is measured by approximating the arrival and service processes with correlated Poisson process, which is chosen such that several statistical characteristics of the communication network identically match with the process. It is shown that the interdependent communication network can reduce average delay of transmission and variability of the buffer content.
