Abstract:

This paper deals with a general production lot size inventory model in which shortages are allowed but it is fully backordered, and the demand, production and deterioration rates are known and arbitrary functions of time. A rigorous mathematical method is used to show that the solution to the underlying inventory system is unique and global optimal.
