In this paper we propose the use of the bootstrap method in connection with a model of the quality (measured in terms of failure intensity) of a software system being tested. The bootstrap method is a method to estimate unknown distributions and their characteristics such as mean and variance. A set of failure data collected from the real-time command and control system developed in Kiev Institute of Automatics (Ukraine) is used to demonstrate the method.
