In the transportation problem, it is usually supposed that the decision-maker knows with certitude all data involved in it, but often that is not so. In this case, fuzzy sets are a very appropriate tool for modelling this kind of process. As it occurs in the classical case, transportation problems in a fuzzy environment and fuzzy linear programming are strongly related, there are some cases for which the existing algorithms do not work well, e.g. the multiobjective solid nonlinear transportation problem. In this paper we enhance the interface between genetic algorithms and fuzzy sets by proposing a genetic algorithm based solution method for the case in which fuzzy goals are assumed in the multiobjective solid (linear and nonlinear) transportation problem.
