The influence of location for the storage-reservoir installation in the transportation system on losses caused by deficit or overfilling

In the examined STR (Sender–Transportation–Receiver) system the transportation subsystem consists of n (n ≥ 2) independent working subsystems connected in series with reversion points. At one of these reversion points a storage-reservoir of finite capacity is located. This system can suffer losses caused by the receiver's deficit or the storage-reservoir overfilling. It was proved that the amount of losses depends essentially on the storage-reservoir location. The problem of choice of the location has been solved algorithmically so that losses be minimized.
