Abstract:

A make-to-order firms’s competitiveness depends on its ability to ship customers orders by the primise date. In this article, a simulation model is used to analyze the effects of strategic decisions involving inventory investment and rules for setting promise dates on the customer service performance in an assemble-to-order firm.
