A simulation model for container-terminal operation analysis using an object-oriented approach

This paper proposes a simulation model for container terminal system analysis. We assume that the container terminal consists of gate, container yard, and berth. The facilities used in the container terminal are transfer cranes, gantry cranes, trailers, and yard tractors. The simulation model is developed using an object-oriented approach, and using SIMPLE ++, object-oriented simulation software. We also consider a simple container terminal which is a reduced system of a real terminal in Pusan, South Korea, and we will analyze the performance of the system.
