Abstract:

Three major groups of lot-sizing techniques are covered: (1) those minimizing holding and setup costs over the replenishment interval, (2) techniques equating setup and holding costs, and (3) those based on incremental holding costs. Modifications for an assortment of time-varying demand conditions and the value of the techniques for practical applications are presented.
