A formal description of discrete event dynamic systems including infinitesimal perturbation analysis

The behaviour of simulation outcomes of discrete event dynamic systems is in focus. This behaviour is characterized by several kinds of performance measures. A description of a wide class of discrete event dynamic systems is arrived at. Within this context a definition of infinitesimal perturbation analysis is given, which is a technique to quantify the dependence of simulation outcomes on changes in continuously varying parameter inputs.
