The objective of this paper is to introduce an interactive and participative development method called simulation game that can be used in various phases of the development process. Firstly it helps companies to identify technical and non-technical problems in the organization and the present business processes. Secondly the simulation game can be used to test and evaluate the needed changes in the business processes before the implementation. The process of building and realizing simulation games is described. The paper includes two case-studies where simulation games were used. The first case describes the use of the simulation game in a printing house and the second in a roll shop in a paper finishing machinery production.
