Abstract:

The Analytic Hierarchy Process has become a popular and practical tool for dealing with complex decision problems. It provides a ranking for the decision alternatives. This article recommends treating the pairwise comparison input data as random variables. This will allow the determination of whether the differences between alternatives are statistically significant.
