Abstract:

Once the content of the recent disciplines of project management and cost engineering is defined, the problem of the analysis of the decisions on complex projects and the implications that Operations Research has with the disciplines themselves are discussed. Three fundamental moments of intervention are differentiated, precisely: the type of approach to planning and programming, the programming of ‘multiproject’ resources and the aggregation of contemporaneous projects. The conclusions particularly refer to the cheapness of the interventions of Operations Research and to the need for new models in this field which is today among the major users of Operations Research itself.
