A mathematical description is given of robust solutions in the context of a product design problem, formulated as finding a point in a feasible area defined by inequalities. Finding the ‘most interior’ or ‘most robust’ point in this area appears to be strongly related to the maximization of weighted slacks. The problem in which the inequalities are linear is analyzed.
