To select an optimal linear design means to select the best subset from a set of possible products or opportunities for commitment and to construct the corresponding optimal contingency plans for coping with the changes of decision parameters. Based on Lee, Shi and Yu, this paper discusses a method for generating generalized good designs from known potentially good designs. We describe how to use the multi-criteria and multi-constraint-level simplex method to identify the generalized optimal designs and their related optimal contingency plans. A procedure for effectively and systematically solving the problem of selecting linear designs is proposed.
