This paper describes the current status of Operations Research (OR) practice in Greece and the trends and challenges it faces. Educational opportunities, the profile of OR in both public and private sectors and the specific role of the country's OR society are outlined. Finally, the results of a survey on OR work carried out and presented in Greece during the last ten years are presented and the challenges that OR will face in the future are discussed.
