A bibliography of expert system applications for business (1984-1992)

The purpose of this research is to present a comprehensive bibliography of expert system (ES) application research in business. Two hundred and fourteen ES application papers are identified through the exhaustive literature searches. A classification of these articles by application area reveals that ESs are being used for a diverse range of corporate functional activities, particularly in the areas of production/operations, finance, and information systems. Information on the name of each ES, the development tool, the stage of development, and the computer operating environment as reported in each article is included. Those journals which have published the most ES business applications are also presented.
