Network Analysis techniques based on stochastic models with classic Beta and Gamma distributions and a fuzzy model of the activity durations are compared and contrasted. Triangular fuzzy numbers are used to represent project activities whose duration times are vague and cannot be well estimated by human experts. Fuzzy models are closer to reality, simpler to use, but still theoretically not well-founded. The outcome of stochastic and fuzzy version of PERT is described in a numerical example.
