Signature analysis is a compact method in digital testing. Applying this method, a test response sequence of a device under test is compressed by linear feedback shift register. Masking occurs if a faulty device yields the same signature as the corresponding good device. In this paper a survey of applications of graphs and automata in the theory of signature analysis is presented.
