Abstract:

In many realistic decision situations the aspiration levels for criteria and various other parameters used in defining them may not be precise. This suggests that the Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MDIM) problem is better modelled using a fuzzy set theoretical approach. In the past several authors have modelled the MDIM problem using the minimum operator, which resolves perfect competitions among objectives without any compensation. In the present paper we have investigated a model incorporating suitable weights reflecting the relative importance of objectives together with relevant compensation.
