Abstract:

In this paper a Negotiation Support System, RAMONA, is proposed for use in a negotiation involving agricultural income policy in Finland. RAMONA develops Pareto Optimal solutions in two-party negotiations. The negotiating parties are the Finnish Government (Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture) and the Central Union of Agricultural Producers. We will demonstrate that the use of the mediating system can be helpful both in structuring the parties' own preferences and in finding a compromise solution to a negotiation problem.
