A performance analysis of a class of blocking networks, called blocking symmetrical networks, is presented where three popular blocking models are considered: rejection blocking, transfer blocking and service blocking. For any symmetrical network we define an index (called CF-vector), based on the number of cycles in the network, which is used to determine an order among the networks reflecting the lexicographic order of their associated CF-vectors. An argument is then presented which states that the order between the CF-vectors of two symmetrical networks could be used to deduce the order between their performance, depending on the blocking model. This argument is supported by a quantitative performance evaluation of several symmetrical networks.
