Some results on implementing a multi-item multi-constraint single-period inventory model

Several earlier works have presented formulations and solution procedures for the ‘newsstand problem’: a multi-item single-period (newsboy-type) production-inventory problem. The purposes of this paper are: (i) to present a demand-distribution modelling procedure that is necessary for the practical implementation of many newsboy/newsstand problems; (ii) to obtain a better understanding of the multi-constraint newsstand problem by studying the behavior of its optimal solutions.
