Abstract:

An Inventory model is developed for deteriorating items with infinite rate of replenishment and time dependent linearly increasing demand over a finite time horizon. Shortages are allowed and are backlogged. The model is formulated by assuming that the successive replenishment cycle lengths are in arithmetic progression. The corresponding results for the model without shortages are derived as a particular case. Results are illustrated with numerical examples.
