Abstract:

The ‘small parameter method’ is recently developed to efficiently solve various queueing problems both analytically and numeically. In this article the author discusses principles of this method applied to busy period parameters. This is also a basis for the derivation of steady state distributions and the distribution of time until the occurrence of a rare event.
