Batching policies for time-varying deterministic demand processes, with linear set-up and stockholding costs, have been fairly thoroughly explored in the literature. This paper considers how batching policies may be determined when we have a finite production (input) rate instead of the infinite input rate which is usually (implicitly) assumed. The particular case of linearly increasing demand is considered in more detail.
